Letter #12 (August 2, 2010 2220hrs)

Lauren,

This may be another short letter, Physical Training (P.T.) is tomorrow, and I am running on about 2.5 hours of sleep. I hope you've gotten all of my letters so far, and that they don't take too long to get to you.

Today was a crazy day: We woke up at 0200 hrs, and have been moving nonstop since then. We had to march about 5 miles to CBRNE (The gas chambers), but only 10 of the 50 members of my flight got to go. "CBRNE detail," sadly, did not allow us to use it yet. We only got to get equipment for the trainees that were doing it. I get to do it next Monday.

I also got to stand about 30 feet from from the door and direct half-blind trainees as they exited the CBRNE. As I was telling them where to go, the E.C. gas started to pour out from the chamber, and the tear gas really started to bother my throat and nose. I really can't wait to do it!

We also got to eat MRE's since we were out in the field, and sadly, they're not half-bad.

ALSO! I almost forgot: we for our BCGs today ("Birth Control Goggles," military-issues glasses... they look ridiculous). When we finally get get phone privileges, I'm going to try and take a quick pic and send it to you, so you can truly understand how hideous they are.

Well, I should probably go to sleep, considering how long I've been awake. I will try to write more tomorrow. Goodnight!

Bailey
